It all began in 1983 when Bernd Schneider, founder of Vacu Vin B.V., came up with the idea for the Vacu Vin Vacuum Wine Saver. His idea for the Wine Saver sprang directly from the taste of spoiled wine. Together with his brother John, an engineer, he developed a concept for a device to preserve opened bottles of wine. The Vacuum Wine Saver is now used in over 25 million households in over 55 countries throughout the world. The head-office is based in Delft, the Netherlands, with branches in Belgium, Canada, England, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.S.A.
